[NOISES AND STATIC]

DEMON: …We know who we are. Not all of us know who they were, but we know. They don’t remember they were once human. They wander the circles of Hell, playing with the newcomers. torturing them just as they were once tortured themselves. Sometimes the High Demons take them to Earth, but they don't truly know what they’re doing. They just say "yes" to whatever their master commands. I feel pity for them. For myself. The difference between them and I is that Lilith made a choice.

JOHN: What choice?

DEMON: Well, she needed assistance. So, she altered certain ways within Hell, and the King didn’t mind. That is how we were born.

JOHN: I still can’t believe I have you trapped in this sigil. I can’t even believe you exist.

[SOUND OF A CHAIR SCRAPING]

JOHN: Where were you all these years? There hasn't been a sign of you for a thousand years. No one has mentioned your name, no hunter has ever found a trace of you or your kind... and now I trap you, randomly, behind this little church?

Heavy breathing is audible in this section. It is believed the process of annihilation had already begun and the demon was slowly burning. Although no video recording has ever captured an annihilation event, we have some indication of how this process appears. (See: Demon’s Self-Annihilation).

[THE AUDIO DISTORTS BRIEFLY BEFORE RETURNING TO NORMAL]

JOHN: You chose to be here.

DEMON: Yes, John… This is my final act. And I hope you listen.

DEMON: [Speaking slowly] Lucifer’s heart will once again be broken.

JOHN: What?

[THE TAPE WARPS AND THE SOUND DISTORTS – PORTIONS OF THE CONVERSATION ARE MISSING]

DEMON: …You take from us, we take from you. It’s that simple.

JOHN: [Tone frustrated] What do you mean, "simple"? People are living decent lives, trying to be good to each other, raising their children… they try to be good. They hope to go to Heaven, or at least avoid Hell! But then you demons come with your master plans, your seductions, your sins, and your torture. If you didn’t exist, most humans would never see Hell.

[A GROWING SILENCE]

DEMON: It’s a game, John, and every game has an ending. You’re just a pawn in this. You can do nothing to avoid the conclusion. What do you think happens after the end? Once Raphael blows the trumpet?

JOHN: [With hesitation] …Judgment Day.

DEMON: Yes, Judgment Day. When the sun rises from the west, the seas boil, and the mountains crumble. You know the stories John. The Prophets return, all dead creatures resurrect and await their final verdict. Then, everyone must cross the bridge over the fires of Hell. If you lived a sinful life, the bridge narrows and you fall. You know all this from your books.

DEMON: The Judgment Day is a promise between God and Lucifer. But I don’t think God intends to honor His side of the bargain.

[HEAVY, LABORED BREATHING FROM THE DEMON]

JOHN: What bargain?

[NOISE AND A LOW WHOOSHING SOUND]

DEMON: I don’t have much time, John. I wrote everything down for you… you know where to find it. Save yourselves.

JOHN: What bargain, damn it? What do you mean, "save ourselves"?

DEMON: Stand back, John. It’s time.

JOHN: Come on! Where am I supposed to find your writings?

DEMON: [Shouting] Stand back.

[NOISE AND WHOOSHING SOUND INTENSIFIES]

JOHN: [Panic rising] What is it? What are you looking at?

DEMON: Oh… you’re here… my love… at last.

[LOUD NOISE AND JOHN SHOUTING IN FEAR IN THE BACKGROUND. THE TAPE WARPS AND DISTORTS INTO STATIC]

Note: Witnessing Lucifer

It is theorized that at the end of this recording, Naauha was witnessing a manifestation of Lucifer. The growing noise was likely her being consumed by the annihilation. While John never disclosed the specific details of this event, we know he bore a "Hell-burn" mark on his left shoulder from the moment Naauha ignited.

We have never been able to recover the book Naauha referred to. We are strongly convinced John found and read it, but chose to either destroy it or hide it entirely.
